Terms of Service

Effective June 22, 2026. By using TrustEye you agree to these terms. If you don't, uninstall the app.

1. Acceptance

By installing or using TrustEye, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, uninstall the app and discontinue use.

2. Service description

TrustEye creates cryptographic provenance records for photos and videos captured on your device. These records are anchored to public blockchains to establish a tamper-evident chain of custody.

Important: TrustEye proves capture integrity — that a specific device captured specific content at a specific time, and that the content has not been modified since. It does not prove the truthfulness, accuracy, or context of the content itself. A provenance-sealed photo proves the photo was taken by a real device and is unaltered; it does not prove that the scene depicted is representative of any broader claim.

3. Beta period

TrustEye is currently in beta. The service is provided as-is and as-available during this period. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features without prior notice. We do not guarantee uptime or availability of the relay service or anchoring infrastructure during beta.

4. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The service is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
  • We do not warrant that blockchain anchors will persist indefinitely. While public blockchains such as Solana are designed for permanence, we have no control over the operation of third-party blockchain networks.
  • We do not warrant that provenance records will be accepted as evidence by any court, regulatory body, or third party.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrustEye and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the service.
  • Failure of a provenance record to be accepted as proof in any context.
  • Loss or corruption of on-device data, wallet keys, or blockchain records.
  • Unauthorized access to your device or its cryptographic keys.
  • Actions of third-party blockchain networks, validators, or infrastructure providers.

Our total liability for all claims related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

6. User responsibilities

6.1 Device-bound credits

Seal pack purchases are bound to the signing key on the device that redeemed them. We strongly recommend keeping device backup enabled so a ordinary reinstall recovery can re-bind unused capacity where the platform and device identity remain stable. Factory resets, user-profile changes, or app-signing identity changes may prevent automatic recovery.

6.2 Acceptable use

You agree not to use TrustEye to:

  • Capture, store, or distribute illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that violates applicable export control laws, or content that infringes on the rights of others.
  • Attempt to forge, tamper with, or falsify provenance records.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except as permitted by applicable law.
  • Overwhelm the relay service with automated requests beyond documented rate limits.

6.3 Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring your use of TrustEye complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

7. Device attestation

TrustEye uses Android hardware Key Attestation and Apple App Attest to verify device and app integrity. We reserve the right to revoke or refuse attestation for any device where we detect evidence of tampering, jailbreaking, or abuse. Revocation means the device will no longer be able to submit new provenance records through our relay service. Existing on-chain records are not affected.

8. Intellectual property

The TrustEye app, relay service, and provenance protocol are the property of TrustEye. Your provenance records and captured content remain yours. By using the relay service, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit the cryptographic data (hashes, keys, signatures) necessary to provide the anchoring service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the relay service at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using TrustEye at any time by uninstalling the app. On-chain records created before termination remain on the blockchain and are not affected.

10. Modifications

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of TrustEye after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bucharest, Romania.
